Rocco’s Open Jam is a beloved monthly gathering for music lovers in the North Georgia mountains, held at Rocco’s Pub in Jasper, GA. 14 This open jam session invites musicians of all levels to plug in, perform, and collaborate in a laid-back, supportive atmosphere, typically running from early afternoon into the evening—such as the recent edition from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. 2
Hosted by veteran musician Steve Rangel, a bassist and vocalist with over 40 years of experience spanning blues, classic rock, southern rock, and even ’80s hard rock roots from Los Angeles, 15 the event draws on his deep passion for the genre to create an inclusive space for jamming classics and originals. Rangel, now based in North Georgia, brings professional gear and a love for horror movies, baseball, and tequila to his role as emcee, ensuring every session feels energetic and welcoming. 11 12
